Rich has specialized in spin, emergency maneuver, aerobatic, and tailwheel transition training full-time since 1987, be it in the classroom, in the cockpit, in front of seminar audiences, in writing, or in front of the camera. Here are his areas of expertise:
- Improving stick and rudder (i.e., manual flying) skills
- Spin, Emergency Maneuver, and Aerobatic training
- EMT program syllabus – The original UPRT program since 1987
- Tailwheel transition and recurrent training
- Safety seminars, keynotes, and workshops
- On-site training clinics and workshops
- Expert witness reports, loss of control in light airplanes
- Aviation-themed STEM outreach and programming
Rich is currently plane-less in Meridian. However, he continues to train pilots in their own airplanes (as approved/appropriate). He occassionally guest instructs in a Decathlon in Bend, Oregon as well.
